Habitat for Humanity is a grassroots, worldwide movement dedicated to eliminating homelessness by helping families build decent, affordable housing.
Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley is a non-profit organization, working in partnership with low-income families in Washtenaw County, to build affordable homes, which are then sold with 25 year interest-free mortgages. The local affiliate for Habitat for Humanity has built over 74 houses since 1989, ten of which were built by the cooperative efforts of local United Methodist churches. Churches of other denominations have joined this effort and each year together they build a “Good News” house in the Washtenaw County area.
