Background and Need Served:

As part of the Children and Family Ministries Team, Families in Service (FIS) is a new initiative that matches families who want to serve together with kid-friendly mission opportunities within our church.   Families in Service will work with the various Outreach project teams to understand the needs and opportunities to help, and create kid-friendly family opportunities within existing Outreach projects.  

Accomplishments to Date:

• Silent Auction Baskets were prepared by each Sunday School class, around differing themes, and contributed to the Silent Auction – to help raise funds for FUMC Outreach projects.
• By Kids 4 Kids Crafts
• Communication of Kid-Friendly Mission Opportunities

2007 Goals:

• To understand, identify, and create kid-friendly opportunities within existing mission projects.
• To develop effective means of communicating these opportunities.
• To develop feedback mechanisms so that needs/desires of families and kids are incorporated into FIS operations.
• To collaborate with the Outreach Committee to synergize efforts.
