FUMC’s Alpha House Host Week is coming up June 6-12. Our church has been a faithful supporter of this critical community mission throughout the pandemic. For this upcoming week, our greatest needs are:

  • Pantry supplies: We have long list of items Alpha House has requested. Since collecting items at Connections is still not possible, supplies will be ordered, and delivered to Alpha House. If you would like to help with the cost of these supplies, you can do so here.
  • Meals: Alpha House is consistently full, so we need to provide dinners for approximately 20 people Monday-Friday and Sunday of our Host Week, as well as breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.
    • Meal providers to cook and deliver meal items by 5:30 p.m. for dinner or 9:30 a.m. for breakfast. You may also prepare meals in the Alpha House kitchen.
    • Order a meal from a local restaurant to be delivered directly to Alpha House by the restaurant (an amazing idea from a member of our church – thanks!) If you would like to provide this kind of meal, but would prefer to share the cost, please contact Beth Lipton.
  • Kids’ Activity Volunteers to supervise free play time after dinner for an hour from 7-8 p.m., Monday-Friday and Sunday evening.  Weather permitting, the children will be at the playground outside Alpha House.

For more information or to volunteer for any of these opportunities, please contact Beth Lipton at turboteach@aol.com or 734-665-9033.

Our church has been an amazing supporter of Alpha House. Your contributions have always been a blessing and a wonderful ministry for the church. They are even more needed and appreciated during this very difficult time for us all, especially by these most vulnerable of our neighbors.
