Support for Alpha House, Ann Arbor’s shelter for homeless families, has always been an important mission outreach for the church. Our Host Week is coming up June 5-11. We need to provide dinners for the families (about 20 people) during the week, as well as breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.  We also fill Alpha House’s long list of pantry supply needs for the week.

Meals: Alpha House has a system for drop off of completed meals at any time during the day, or you can prepare meals in their kitchen. Another way to provide a meal is to order it to be delivered from a local restaurant, a choice that benefits everyone!

Supplies: Please consider making a donation to the church Alpha House fund here or send a check to the church made out to FUMC with “Alpha House” on the memo line.  This money will be used to order and deliver all the supplies needed for the week.

Kids Activity: With the nicer weather and reduced Covid concerns, there is an increased need for volunteers to supervise kids’ activity times each evening from 6:45-8 p.m. Alpha House has an outdoor playground and a well-stocked indoor playroom, so you do not need to provide any activities, just come and enjoy playing with the kids. Volunteer families are welcome to bring their own children with them.

Our church has been an amazing supporter of Alpha House.  Your contributions have always been a blessing and a wonderful ministry for the church.  They are even more needed and appreciated during this very difficult time for us all, especially by these most vulnerable of our neighbors.
