50th Annual Ann Arbor CROP Hunger Walk!
Sunday, October 6 at 2 p.m., Zion Lutheran Church
We invite you to join us in raising awareness and funds to help end hunger for our neighbors in Washtenaw County through 11 local programs, including Love Thy Neighbor (FUMC), and with the global work of Church World Service. This year FUMC is joining with the Breakfast Program at St. Andrew’s to be a team together online! There will be free T-Shirts for the first 100 people who register for our area’s walk on-line! See how to register on-line in advance below.
In-person walk – Sunday, October 6
Zion Lutheran Church, 1501 West Liberty, Ann Arbor, 48103.
Registration/check in at 1 pm, walk send off at 2 pm
Walk lengths: ~2.5 and 4.5 miles; walk as far as you wish.
Food provided by FedUp Ministries. Walk with others from FUMC if you’d like.
You are also welcome to walk on your own or on a different day and dedicate your walking in solidarity with CROP.
How you can participate as a walker and/or supporter:
Go to the Ann Arbor CROP Walk: FUMC & Breakfast Program at St. Andrew’s Team webpage to:
- Register on-line as an individual walker with our church team, click on “Join the Team.”
- Donate to the CROP Walk on behalf of individual walkers or the entire walk team. To donate to the team there is an orange “Make a Donation” button on the right; to donate to individuals who are walking scroll down the team webpage to find and click on their name and then donate.
Donate to the CROP Walk through our church, two options:
- Make checks to FUMC and put “CROP Walk” in the memo and turn into the church office.
- At FUMC online giving here you can sign in if you have an account or you can choose “Give as Guest”; after you indicate the amount of your gift you can designate your gift by choosing “CROP WALK” from a black box with a drop down menu.
Questions – contact our church’s CROP Walk recruiters: email Spring Jackson and Lynn Palacios here.
Thank you for considering how you can help end hunger and support food security for all!
