New Worship Services!
One of the biggest changes for the fall of 2019 is that we are going from three weekly worship services to five! Yes, five! Here is a description of each one so you can choose the worship experience(s) that’s right for you.
Wednesday morning “Rise and Shine” worship, 7:30 a.m. in the downtown choir loft. Start your day offering gratitude with your neighbors. Start time 7:30 am, on your way by 8 am. Join us beginning September 11 to celebrate new light and love every morning. No sermon- just psalms, songs and prayers in community. All are welcome!
Saturday Green Wood service, 5:00 p.m. Our Green Wood service is a relaxed, “come as you are” worship experience with contemporary gospel and folk music in a beautiful, woodsy setting.
Sunday morning “Traditions” service, 9:30 a.m. Held in the downtown sanctuary, this service features beautiful music from our organist and choirs, a time for children with the pastor, a thoughtful and thought-provoking sermon, and hymns from our United Methodist hymnals.
Sunday morning “Essentials” service, 11:15 a.m. in the downtown social hall, kicks off September 15. Grab a snack and a cup of coffee during Connections and then find a seat at one of the round tables toward the back of the social hall. This relaxed, 40 minute service features Christian popular songs, a short message or testimony, and Communion at your table. We will have a “prayground” – a place for children to play right in the worship space if they like – so this is a great service for families. That said, everyone is welcome!
Sunday evening “The Living Room” worship, 5:00 p.m. in the Wesley Lounge. A shared venture of the Wesley Foundation and FUMC, this worship service is aimed at students and young adults (though everyone is invited). Each week after worship, we will share a meal together. Join us for our gathering September 22 and be part of designing what this worship experience will be like!
Keep an eye on our Worship Schedule!
