Vital Conversations – Exploring “Whiteness” with Elaine Shaw
Sunday, Feb. 20 at 11:15 a.m. on Zoom and in Calkins Hall
Continue our vital conversation about racial reconciliation as we explore “whiteness” and the roots of our white European cultural history. We will look at the question of whether (and how) white people might develop healthy identities in which we take responsibility for the historic and current racial injustice and oppression and we participate in showing the positive aspects of our mainstream and ancestral cultures. We will build on suggestions from Resmaa Menakem in My Grandmother’s Hands on how to build “whiteness without supremacy.”
