Downtown Sanctuary

sanctuary_adventThe sanctuary features two large stained glass windows on the east and west walls, designed and installed by the Detroit Stained Glass Works company.

We have a 42-rank Reuter organ from the W. W. Kimball company and a Yamaha grand piano. See the webpage on our organ for more information about that instrument.

The sanctuary was renovated in 2000. At that time the carpets were replaced, the pews were refinished and recovered, lighting was updated, and the room was cleaned and painted. A stage area was built in front of the chancel.

In 2008 a new projection system was installed and the sound system was updated.

In 2013, the operating glass panels in the aisle windows were rebuilt and sealed.

We have eight listening aids available for events in the Sanctuary — see an usher or visit the Narthex to get a headset and pack.
