Juneteenth, also known as Liberation Day or Emancipation Day, is an annual celebration honoring the moment in 1865 when roughly 250,000 enslaved African-American people learned that they were free. Today it is recognized by 47 states as a state holiday. Join us to learn more about the history of Juneteenth and why it is important for us to celebrate it and also to use it as our inspiration to continue to work for racial justice.
