Supporting School Success!
School Supplies Drive: July 24 – August 8
Community Action Network (CAN) provides educational and enrichment programs for children and teens, and supportive services for families who are under-resourced at its Arrowwood Hills, Brick, Bryant, Creekside Court, and Green Baxter Community Centers in the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti area. The school supplies or financial gifts donated to this drive will provide students, associated with these centers, the school items that will help them have a successful upcoming school year!
You can support this drive by purchasing and donating supplies or with a financial gift.
To donate supplies – see this flyer for a list of needed items. There are backpacks on the list, and they will be appreciated if donated, but school supplies are needed the most. Drop-off options: Donated supplies can be dropped off at in-person worship on Saturdays at Green Wood and Sundays downtown; look for designated boxes. Another drop-off option will be Wednesday, August 4, 11 am – 1 pm, downtown Promenade (circle drive – enter from State St.). All supplies need to be new and dropped off by Sunday morning, August 8.
Give a financial gift – These gifts will allow us to purchase items to complete kits of supplies for students. You can give to FUMC online and designate the Fund as “Other” and in the Memo type “CAN School Supplies”, checks can be made to FUMC and put “CAN School Supplies” in the memo line.
