For the first time since its beginning in 2014, FUMC hosted its 2025 annual Advent Tea downtown. While the setting was new, the contagious spirit of a caring, thoughtful community was the same.
Rest & reflection
When Advent Tea was first held in 2014, the intention was simple, to ease the sense of overwhelm that often accompanies the Advent season. With many hands contributing, the event has continued to offer a moment of rest and reflection on the first Saturday of December ever since.
Food, music & scripture
This year, nearly 100 guests were welcomed by festive tables and hanging stars. Attendees shared in food, music, and scripture as Advent candles were lit. Speakers reflected on moments in their lives where they experienced hope, love, joy or peace. As guests departed, they carried with them the words of Mother Mary: Let your hearts be healed and your lives be filled with love.
