For the month of October, FUMC will participate in this nationwide movement launched by Resurrection, a United Methodist Church in the Kansas City area, to encourage people to be intentional about treating one another with kindness, overcoming the polarization in our country through civility and respect. Our sermon series will reaffirm our commitment that no matter what happens between now and November 5 (or after), we will follow Jesus and treat others as we want them to treat us – including those with whom we disagree. No matter what – kindness. No matter what – humility. No matter what – respect. No matter what – love.
“R-E-S-P-E-C-T, Find out what it means to me!” That is our theme this week in worship as we continue our worship series entitled “Do Unto Others”. Is it possible to respect someone who holds very different views from your own? What does respect look like when it doesn’t necessarily come easily? Join us this week to explore R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
