Weekly Programs

We are currently meeting in an online format.

High School:

Topics we explored in the past year include unconscious bias, failure and resiliency, gratitude, scarcity and disabilities. Our UMYF counselors develop and lead programs to share with youth based on their own passions and interests, viewing these topics through a Christian lens.

We meet on Sundays from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. over Zoom. Contact us at youth@fumc-a2.org to get the link.

Approximately once per month we offer an in-person, physically-distanced, outdoor event. Advance signup is required for in-person activities.

7th & 8th Graders:

We currently offer a hybrid program for this age group:

1st & 3rd Sundays: We join the High School students for programs that help us apply our faith to our everyday lives.

2nd & 4th Sundays: We have a separate class: “Explorers”, where students explore their faith by asking questions, digging deeper, serving others and learning more about God and the Church. Activities, video and small group discussion facilitated by compassionate adult leaders are woven together to encourage growth. Explorers class is a key component in preparing students to be confirmed, which typically happens at the end of their 8th grade year. Together we consider issues of faith such as who wrote the Bible? Can it be proven that God exists? What if my friends aren’t Christians?
