Food & fellowship
On Saturday, Sept. 19, more than two dozen congregants gathered in the Green Wood Sanctuary for an afternoon of football, food and fellowship as U-M took on UTEP. The game was shown on two big screens, with snacks enjoyed during the first half and dinner served during the second.
Halftime service
At halftime, Pastor Nancy led a brief service featuring a special message, “On the Tenth Yardline.” Drawing on Galatians 6:9, “So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up,” Pastor Nancy connected the determination and encouragement heard from football coaches with the challenges we all face in our daily lives.
Community & faith
The gathering was a fun and meaningful opportunity to bring together community, food, football and faith. Thanks to everyone who helped make the evening a success!
