Youth Service Trip 2025
Working together
In June 2025, 19 youth and six adults traveled to Brown Deer, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee, for the summer youth service trip. This experience was organized in partnership with United Methodist Volunteers in Mission, a group that coordinates service trips across the U.S. and internationally.
During the week, the group shared living space, meals, activities and worksites with participants from five other United Methodist churches from Illinois, Ohio and Indiana.
Giving back
The group served at multiple locations across the community, with different teams assigned to specific sites. These included local churches in need of repairs and nonprofit organizations that provide services to the area. In addition to their hands-on work, participants also engaged in daily programming, team share outs, devotions, and time to relax and build community.
Inspiring hope
The impact was significant—some organizations estimated that the work completed by the youth put them ahead by weeks or even a full year in terms of maintenance and projects. Several churches also shared how meaningful it was to see young people serving in such visible ways, inspiring a renewed sense of hope and motivation within their congregations.
