Michigan Conference Cane

Our former associate pastor, Russell Smith, received the Michigan Conference Cane on Sunday, May 17, during a ceremony held in the theater at Dancy House, Chelsea Retirement Community.

First awarded in 1904, the Michigan Conference Cane is fashioned from wood connected to important figures in Michigan Methodist history and is presented to the oldest living clergy person in the conference. A number of current and former members of our congregation attended the special occasion to celebrate this meaningful honor.

Beautifying Our Church Grounds

A group of dedicated volunteers spent several days in early May beautifying the church grounds and Memorial Garden. Volunteers worked throughout the Memorial Garden, along the Wesley building, and in the surrounding spaces, planting flowers and pulling weeds to help create a warm and welcoming environment for all who visit the church.
