Creation Care

1st Sunday of the month, 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

FUMC’s environmental group to educate and learn from each other and to inspire our congregation (and beyond) to take care of God’s creation. We meet monthly on the first Sunday of each month at 4 p.m. at our downtown church in Calkins or connect remotely via Zoom. Learn more about this offering.

Conversations About Science & Religion

How do we bridge the gap between science and religion? Join members of our own FUMC science and medical community for conversations about experiences and struggles with faith, belief, and the place of God in scientific study. Learn more about this offering.

Vital Action

3rd Sunday of the month, 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
Calkins and Zoom

Join us for dialogue that moves us toward spiritual, community and social transformation. Our conversation topics include race and racism, immigration, culture and oppression. Resources have included books, videos, movies and more. Everyone is invited to come and join the conversation. Going beyond just learning and discussing, we will formulate a plan of action for topics addressed. The plan may include a proposal to church leadership, a communication with the congregation, the initiation of a specific project or something else – transforming conversation into action.

Disability Awareness Talks

4th Sunday of the month, 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

Please join us to learn and share about the challenges that people with all sorts of disabilities and struggles encounter and also the gifts that they offer. Becoming more aware is the first step in being more inclusive and welcoming. Learn more about this offering.

Global Issues

Sundays, 1-2 p.m.
Global Issues uses the Foreign Policy Associations Great Decisions DVD & book, which can be found at This curriculum is very secular, but the group attempts to look at the issues from a Christian perspective asking, “What are we called to do about it?” Occasionally, participants bring in items from the news that the group discusses. Men of Faith

Saturdays, 8:30-10 a.m.

This is a group for men who want to gather to share spiritual program material, “God Sightings” and prayer. All men who are interested in growing their faith through study, sharing and prayer are welcome to join! Learn more about this offering.
