Community Blood Drive
Bringing an idea to life
This spring, three Pioneer High School students involved in the school’s Red Cross Club approached us about hosting a blood drive in honor of Peter DeHart as he underwent a bone marrow transplant. We were honored to help bring their idea to life.
Spreading the word
On Friday, June 12, shortly after the school year ended, our Green Wood Sanctuary became the site of the blood drive. Thanks to the students’ efforts to spread the word, along with publicity through the church and wider community, nearly every donation appointment was filled.
Inspiring others
Together, our community helped the Red Cross collect more than 50 pints of blood, a wonderful example of how young people can inspire others to come together and make a meaningful difference.
