With every day’s news filled with violence, exclusion, hateful language, and fear-mongering, our society needs what the Church offers – love, compassion, welcome, justice, and help for those on the margins. We are writing a different story from the one we hear on the news by feeding hungry people, advocating for immigrants, building houses, cleaning parks, teaching our kids, supporting each other, and worshiping together!
We are a strong and faithful church, and a strong and faithful church needs strong and faithful disciples! Countering the narrative around us takes energy and commitment, clarity of purpose, and deep faith not just today, but for the long haul. That’s why we are focusing on Rev. Adam Hamilton’s book, The Walk: Five Essential Practices of Christian Life, this fall – to help renew and sustain us as we continue to be a force for good in our church, community, and world.
