Alpha House Host Week, Nov. 2-8

First United Methodist Church’s Alpha House host week is coming up on Nov. 2-8. Like most things in our lives, it will look quite different than in the past. Masks must be worn and staff will be sanitizing the public areas multiple times daily. Hand sanitizer is located throughout the building and anyone entering is asked to use them frequently. There have been no illnesses of any kind there. Alpha House staff has been serving the meals to resident families.

Online Memorial Benefit Concerts for Amy Fedel through October 31

In the spirit of helping slow the spread of COVID-19, the 2020 Amy Fedel Memorial Benefit will happen online this year. While we’ll miss seeing all of our old friends at Green Wood and feeling the wonderful energy of live music, we decided that online is better than not at all.

The Interfaith Round Table of Washtenaw is a spiritually based alliance of people from across the spectrum of faith communities who come together to address our communalities, share experiences and explore issues that affect us all. The IRT is currently looking for a part-time volunteer treasurer. The time commitment is about 5 hours per month. The couches and chairs in the Asbury Room are getting old and worn. We would like to replace them with newer furniture. We are looking for living room furniture in reasonably good condition in neutral colors; no plaids or floral patterns.
